ABSTRACT
Bethlehem, like Jerusalem, is considered a sacred city by all three monotheistic religions:
Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. The town long enjoyed growth and development due to maintaining an organic connection with Jerusalem, until the Israeli occupation of the rest of Palestine, including East Jerusalem, began in 1967.
