Israeli settlements in the territories occupied in the 1967 war continue to be a centre of controversy. Ann M. Lesch, in a previous article for the Journal (Vol. VII, No. 1, Autumn 19-77, pp. 26-47), outlined the rationale behind the settlements in the occupied territories, with accompanying charts and appendices. There follow revised and updated (March-April 1978) maps and lists of settlements compiled by Ms. Lesch. Details as to the date of foundation, location, type of settlement, economic base and originalandowners in each instance are supplied after the map.
