These concise booklets were prepared after the breakout of conflict in Lebanon in the spring of 1975, in light Israel’s interest in deepening the sectarian divide and in provoking internal conflict in Lebanon, as well as in other Arab countries. Five booklets were issued about the coverage of the events in Lebanon in the Hebrew press in Israel, covering the period between May 1975 and January 1976, including the texts of statements by Israeli officials, the positions of the major political parties and politicians, and editorial commentaries on the developments in Lebanon. The second booklet contains the three letters exchanged by David Ben Gurion, Moshe Sharett, and Eliahu Sasson in 1954, and published in 1971, concerning the Israeli plan to establish a sectarian statelet in Lebanon up to the Litani River, which would conclude an alliance with Israel.
