Solomon’s Pools: A Patient Framework Awaiting Its Potential

Negligence has shadowed Solomon’s Pools through many phases of atlal. Their ever-changing occupiers and authorities painted different narratives of ruin for each generation. Looking back at this narrative, my own idea of atlal in regard to the pools and the surrounding area relates to the Israeli occupation and the effect of the second intifada, and the change in management from waqf to the private sector. The pools are analyzed as both a ghost of the lost potential and as the patient skeletons they are, ready to be reactivated by a future generation.
