ABSTRACT
This report explores changes in Jordan in the post-Hussein era. A review of developments in the first year of King Abdallah's role shows an acceleration in steps to incorporate the country into the global market, an eagerness to become part of a regional "Pax Americana", and an erosion of the democratization process of the early 1990s.
