Brokers of Deceit: How the U.S. Has Undermined Peace in the Middle East
Journal of Palestine Studies editor Rashid Khalidi is the author of Brokers of Deceit: How the U.S. Has Undermined Peace in the Middle East (Boston: Beacon Press, 2013).
Brokers of Deceit chronicles three periods of American-mediated negotiations: the Carter years during Camp David, the Madrid-Washington peace talks during the Bush, Sr. administration, and the first Obama administration.
Rashid Khalidi was an advisor to the Palestinian delegation in Madrid and by virtue of his experience has preserved several official documents, which partially serve as the source material for chapter 2. These previously unpublished documents have been made available by the Institute for Palestine Studies.
