Abstract: 

This book draws on the author’s personal recollection of events he witnessed in his hometown during the British Mandate and the war of 1948. It describes the subsequent fate of the city and of its residual Palestinian community under Israeli rule.

About the Author(s)

Born in Lydda in 1926, Isbir MUNAYYIR served in the Postal Service under the British Mandate and participated in the defense of his native city during the 1948 war. He continued to live in Lydda after its incorporation in Israel until his death in 1999.
