The Israeli Military Machine and the Next Arab-Israeli War

The 1973 October war was a turning point in the history of the Israeli army and led to a series of significant changes in its structure, armaments and military plans. This study examines these changes, on the basis of Israeli and Western sources, and how they reflect on the military balance of power between the Arabs and Israel. In the light of this, and in the light of the new subjective situation that resulted from Egypt’s departure from the arena of the Arab-Israeli conflict, this study examines the shape of the potential war between Israel and the Arab countries that have rejected the Egyptian-Israeli treaty, reviewing the political pretexts that Israel may resort to in order to wage war and the military plans and tactics that it may use, as well as the potential military targets and the Arabs’ defensive and offensive options.
